Hands

Take my hand I won't let you slip
It'll take more than death to release my grip
Nothing will make me turn away
Turn my back when you need me to stay
Face to face with everything I hate
They spit in my eyes but still I wait
Even though my patience will wear thin
I'll never forget where I've been
So alone with my heart breaking
My muscles tired and my legs aching
Searching for a place to call my own
No matter who took me in I was still so alone
Never knowing if I'd see a better day
Never knowing that love is the way
I've found my shelter, found my solace
Found my way, Found my endurance
No one will ever truly know the pain that I go through
But in my heart all I want is to keep that from getting to you
So hold on and trust in my scarred, broken hands
I promise you they're stronger than any other mans.
