"Dragon Age - Origins" Review

Dragon Age - Origins, the newest release from Bioware(Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate) seems to be taking the RPG gaming world by storm since it first hit stores in November. Winning both RPG game of the year, and PC game of the year at Spike TVs Video Game Awards, it threatens to reign supreme over all other games in the genre for a very long time.
The story begins in the land of Ferelden where an ancient evil known as darkspawn are rallying their troops from the underground, and waging an all out war on the surface. You can choose from one of six different beginning stories, each with it's own outlook on the game, but all with the same main goal. As the story unfolds, you will become a Grey Warden, a legendary guardian in charge of dealing with the darkspawn threat. Throughout the course of the game you'll gain many companions, and complete many quests to build your army to fight against the darkspawn. The in game decisions you make will effect how your party members feel about you, and what forces will join you in your fight.
No matter what your gaming preference, DAO is definitely worth trying out. Even if you aren't particularly fond of RPG's, there is a little something that fits everyones taste in this award winner. Finally, for the hardcore fans of DAO make sure you check out the two prequel novels Dragon Age - The Stolen Throne, and Dragon Age - The Calling. Both written by the games lead writer, David Gaider.
